Mekke Socks

With a comfortable fit from toe to heel, these lightly cushioned socks will quickly become the ones you reach for when you have a long day ahead of you. Taking their name from the Japanese slang word “mekke-mono” (meaning “good find”),  Mekke socks come in soft heathered pastel colors and feature plush and absorbent terry on the sole to help prevent the dreaded feeling of sweaty feet. These socks are woven on the same slow looms as many of our favorite towel styles.

About Kontex
Gentle on the skin and kind to the environment, Kontex has been crafting high-quality towels in Imabari, Japan since 1934. Each towel is made from fine, garment quality thread that’s loosely twisted for the highest level of softness. Such threads would break on modern machines, thus Kontex towels are gently woven on traditional, low-speed looms to maintain the integrity of the thread and achieve a level of softness that modern machines cannot reproduce.

Kontex textiles are carefully washed with large quantities of fresh spring water from the melted snow of Mt. Ishizuchi, ensuring every thread is free from impurities. Known for their compact size, contemporary designs, and powerful absorbency, Kontex towels are suitable for the kitchen or bath.
