Spring Inspirations
Spring Harvest Sips
Beyond the typical Western seasonal calendar, Japan abides by the "24 Sekki" and zassetsu holiday calendar. With micro-seasons to help dictate planting and harvest times, as well as the oncoming rainy season, this specific calendar makes room for tea harvesting. Known as the Hachijyu-Hachiya, this day marks the 88th day from the start of spring, and the harvest of our lucky Hachijyu-Hachiya green tea. This day is also particularly special as it shares the same date, May 2, as Japan's National Matcha Day. Revel in this abundant season with a cup of luck or freshly whisked matcha.
