Job Title: Marketing Manager

Job Description:

Morihata International is looking for a passionate, results and team-oriented marketing professional to grow and lead our marketing efforts. Marketing Manager will be responsible for spearheading the strategy and implementation of all marketing and communications while supporting the business objectives of Morihata International’s three main channels: wholesale, online, and retail concept store. 

The Marketing Manager is expected to help us grow our reputation in the market and appeal to a larger audience. Marketing Manager’s responsibilities include analyzing consumer insights, crafting plans & contents for our creative team and developing guidelines to promote our company across various channels. To be successful in this role, you should have extensive experience with brand management and a good understanding of our industry. The Marketing Manager is also expected to have a brand-first mentality and deliver high-quality experiences across all communications, and produce measurable and consistent financial results and growth. You will collaborate across departments and partner with multiple internal stakeholders to create marketing initiatives that are informed by our broader business needs. 

He/she understands the importance of analytics and uses data to inform decision-making on projects. He/she regularly produces market research, data, and analysis to support multiple internal stakeholders, departments, and business strategies. The Marketing Manager is expected to leverage his or her marketing knowledge and experience to develop both long-term and short-term strategies across all facets of a modern marketing strategy. Key Areas/Departments of Responsibilities:

  • Own and develop the marketing strategy for all business units (Wholesale B2B, Retail/eCommerce B2C, Private Label) 
  • Execute and refine marketing efforts across all available channels 
  • Communicate ROI and overall effectiveness of marketing campaigns internally 
  • Manage our overall marketing calendar working with the creative team 
  • Act as our primary copywriter and voice of the brand - Strong writing skills are a necessity Work with CEO/CFO to ensure all marketing efforts align with brand and company vision Develop standard reporting and analysis that communicates the effectiveness of marketing activities and the business impact of marketing initiatives to key stakeholders 
  • Research and communicate the unique selling points behind our products 

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Have a strongly informed POV and ultimately develop and execute marketing strategies for the following channels - Email, Blogs, Social Media, Partnerships, Paid and Organic Search, Events, Printed Materials 
  • Conduct competitive research to identify our strengths and weaknesses 
  • Analyze market trends and identify new opportunities and challenges
  • Manage and optimize our websites to effectively sell our products and improve customer experience Assist in researching and evaluating vendors and software to add to our tech stack 
  • Utilize customer knowledge and data to plan and execute on brand, financially viable marketing materials and initiatives that result in increased sales and customer acquisition 
  • Work with CFO to manage annual marketing budget 
  • Oversee all written content to support audience’s unique needs 
  • Review websites weekly and coordinate with the appropriate internal stakeholders to ensure websites optimal functionality, and accuracy 
  • Gather feedback from sale and analyze consumer behaviors to define our company’s positioning Assess the performance of our advertising campaigns and events 
  • Deliver on-brand key messages at events, trade shows and all other external communications Identify tactical brand/product acceleration initiatives for all channels 
  • Establish and implement quality controls throughout the marketing team’s workflow process Continue to grow in learning about the industry, related medias and opportunities for the brand Work closely with CEO, CFO and Creative team to further develop and fulfill company vision and creativity
  • Represent the business at trade shows and assist with setup and takedown (as needed)


Reports To: CEO and CFO

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Work experience as a Marketing Manager or similar role in Marketing 
  • Portfolio of brand-building projects is a plus 
  • Excellent understanding of the full marketing mix 
  • Experience developing marketing strategies based on market segmentation 
  • Data-driven thinking 
  • Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Excel, Social Media Platforms, SEO, Google Analytics 
  • Creativity 
  • Communication and writing skills 
  • Four-year degree in Marketing/Communications or another business-related field from an accredited college or university 
  • 5+ years of work experience in a marketing discipline required

Showroom / Stockroom Associate

Morihata International Ltd. Co. (www.morihata.com) is a growing design and lifestyle company specializing in wholesale Japanese goods. Rikumo (www.rikumo.com) is our retail wing, which offers all Morihata products to individual customers in addition to a much wider selection of Japan-made products.

We are seeking a Showroom / Stockroom Associate to help with warehouse organization, product shipping, and packing/receiving of online orders and in-person customer service. Our ideal candidate should desire to be a part of a fast-growing, rapidly changing company in the retail/wholesale industry.

This job requires being physically present at our storefront in Ardmore, PA. We will only consider candidates that are able to meet this criteria. The Ideal candidate will also be able to work at least one day during the weekend (Saturday or Sunday).

Key Areas of Responsibility
Helping both showroom & online customers face to face or via email and phone
Working with Manager / Assistant Manager to meet project deadlines
Packing & shipping online orders for both B2B and B2C sales
Assisting with visual merchandising and store organization
Assisting with regular cycle counts to maintain stock room organization
Receiving shipments for wholesale and retail products
Creating short daily reports

Other Responsibilities
Planning out daily packing responsibilities to prepare for regular UPS / USPS pickups
Organizing packaging for private label products to meet the demand of our online accounts
Daily clean-ups to maintain showroom and warehouse
Refilling inventory daily if additional stock is available

Reports to: Manager / Assistant Manager

Education and Experience
A college degree preferred or 1+ years of work experience in a retail / showroom environment

Skills and Abilities
Ability to handle multiple projects in various stages of completion
Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines while maintaining a positive, can-do attitude
Must show a high level of work ethic
Must have a high level of attention to detail
Must be self-directed when necessary but able to work in a team environment
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Must be quick and efficient
