Bring the beauty of the forest into your studio with a tape dispenser that doubles as a work of art. Crafted by artisans in the woods of Takayama, Oak Village’s woodworks are made from sustainable Japanese lumber and finished with all-natural vegetable oils. Each tape dispenser is made by hand with traditional joinery techniques that combine two pieces of wood without the use of metal fasteners for stability and durability. Like a patina on brass, the natural oil finish will change over time with age and usage, giving each dispenser its own particular personality.
Also available in small.
Oak Village is a woodworking studio that follows the concept of "100-year-old trees made into items that will be used for 100 years." Founded in 1974 in the woods of Takayama, their projects promote lumber as a renewable resource that supports a sustainable, recycling-friendly society. Oak Village’s artisans make all their products from domestic Japanese wood and finish them with natural oils to best show off the wood's individual personality. Led by the principle “For every tree you receive from the mountain, give another one back", Oak Village founded the Acorn Club, a nonprofit that plants tree saplings to support sustainable forestry efforts throughout Japan.
