Torigoe Woven Bamboo Tote
From the tiny village of Torigoe, this hand-woven basket tote is made from sturdy suzutake, a variety of bamboo native to Japan. Roomy enough to hold picnic essentials and sturdy enough to hold its shape, the Torigoe tote is a beautifully constructed bag that reinvents the rural craft traditions of Japan.
Torigoe bamboo works are made by splitting each stalk of bamboo into quarters and then shaving them into strips. These strips are then knit together in a cross-hatch pattern that gives the baskets a weightless strength. Today the torigoe weaving tradition is upheld by specialist weavers, whose disciplined artistry keeps the craft alive and growingMaterials: bamboo

Hasami Porcelain Milk Pitcher - Gloss
A little pitcher to pour small batches of milk, cream, or juice. Its modular lip pairs with the small Hasami Plate for a makeshift lid, keeping its contents fresh and clean.
The Hasami Porcelain
Hasami Porcelain is designed by Taku Shimoto, whose pieces embody a "tortoise lifestyle": slow, steady, and long-lasting. His modular, stackable pieces are inspired by lacquer tiered boxes used in Japanese cuisine, and the geometrical, clean shapes of midcentury modern design. Hasami Porcelain is made in Hasami, where ceramics have been the main craft industry for 400 years.
Please note: because of the handmade nature of Hasami pieces, some pieces may experience slight variations in glaze and colors. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
