In collaboration with Imoshen Studio, the new Yakisugi Trivet uses a traditional Japanese wood-charring method known as Yakisugi or Shou Sugi Ban in North America. Preserving the cedar wood and imparting a stunning black color, the wood becomes water and fire-resistant.

Dating back to the Edo period in Japan, yakisugi was used to protect wooden structures and homes. Now, this beautiful tradition has been turned into a stylish trivet that can be used to protect surfaces from hot mugs, plates, and candles, or kept out permanently as a statement piece.

This exclusive handmade item is only available at rikumo.

Note: This is a handmade item. Some variations in the wood grain and texture are natural.
