The Caya line of bags and kitchenware takes its name from the Japanese word kaya, a term for the material in mosquito netting.

As the use of these nets fell out of favor in Japan, kaya found new life in a wide variety of home goods, thanks to its unique texture, its impressive durability, and the ease with which it can be cleaned and maintained. All Caya products are made in Nara, the traditional home of kaya craftworks.
