Tainetsu Crock

Handmade from thick Japanese clay, the Tainetsu Crock is formed with a tactile blend of smooth and organic textures. Unlike enamel or metal pots, clay is porous, so heat and moisture can easily circulate within the pot, keeping soufflés and popovers from falling flat.  Outside of baking, carry the lidded crock as a lunchtime snack on the go.
Because every crock is hand-made, glazing and textures may vary.

Banko-Yaki Ceramics
Banko-Yaki is a Japanese ceramic technique local to the Mie Prefecture that embodies ideals of eternity and constancy.  Dating back to the 18th century, banko-yaki ceramics offer unique heat resistance and a beautiful, almost primitive composition. These handmade pieces continue to honor an ancient art in a modern world by reshaping the past to fit the needs of the future.
