Mochizuki Ceramic Sauce Dish

Featuring a little spout for easy pouring, this little ceramic sauce dish stands at the ready to serve sauces and gravy over your favorite meals. The Mochizuki Sauce Dish was formed on the potter’s wheel from coarse clay and left unglazed to achieve a primitive, sand-like organic texture that recalls the ancient folk arts of Japan. Designed with a gradual depression along its sides, the sauce dish provides a natural handhold for graceful pouring.

About Banko Yaki Ceramics

Based in the Mie Prefecture, the art of Banko Yaki is a traditional ceramic technique that is entrenched within Japanese culture. Dating back to the 18th century, Banko Yaki ceramics offer unique heat resistance and a beautiful but practical composition in muted, earthy colors.  These pieces continue to honor an ancient art in a modern world by reshaping the past to fit the needs of the future.
