Like the rest of our beloved Hasami collection, this modular planter set is made from an organic mixture of porcelain and clay. This set includes a planter with a centered hole to drain your plants, as well as an accompanying plate to stack underneath. Its brutalist form brings harmony and symmetry to an otherwise lush living plant body.
About Hasami
Hasami Porcelain is designed by Taku Shimoto, whose pieces embody a "tortoise lifestyle": slow, steady, and long-lasting. His modular, stackable pieces are inspired by lacquer tiered boxes used in Japanese cuisine, and the geometrical, clean shapes of mid-century modern design. Hasami Porcelain is made in Hasami, Nagasaki, where ceramics have been the main craft industry for 400 years.
Please note: because of the handmade nature of Hasami pieces, some pieces may experience slight variations in glaze and colors. Please contact us at info@rikumo.com with any questions.

“Musubi” is the Japanese word for the spiritual power of growth that is found in all natural things. Inspired by this philosophy, the Musubi vase collection displays fresh-cut flowers with the same dynamic grace as if they were still growing in the earth. Each vase is hand-turned and carved from Japanese Zelkova wood, which is traditionally used to make Taiko drums and furniture.
Each style is designed in a form inspired after one of the Five Elements, with Kaze (or Wind) representing the things that grow, expand, and enjoy freedom of movement- just like your most beloved flowers. Perfectly symmetrical and smooth to the touch, this stunning piece is a testament to the perfection that can be achieved by a pair of human hands.
Materials: Zelkova Wood
Dimensions: Height: 6”, Diameter: 2”
Care: Hand-wash with mild soap. Use a clean cloth to remove dust from exterior surface, wiping gently.

About Acrylate Resin Casting
Similar to amber, insects and other curiosities can be preserved in acrylic resin for generations. The process typically involves pouring acrylic into a mold with the dried plant on a slightly solidified gel. The specimen is then pressurized in the mold to remove bubbles before being slowly heated to stabilize the acrylic bonds. Finally, the specimen is shaped and buffed to remove any surface markings.
