Kohiki Teapot

Tea ceremony enthusiasts enjoy Kohiki’s weathered, rustic charm, reflective of the principles of simplicity and uniqueness that guide the Japanese tea ceremony. Circular in shape and sturdy enough for everyday use, every Kohiki teapot is handcrafted and will have slight variations in color and texture.
The striations of color on this teapot come from its unique production. Kohiki, a type of high-fired stoneware developed in Japan during the 1500s, involves brushing white porcelain slip onto a dark clay body prior to firing.
